Joining forces for equality in human rights

This Human Rights Day marks the beginning of a year-long partnership between Canva and UN Human Rights to commemorate the upcoming 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 2023. The Declaration is a milestone document, which proclaims the inalienable rights that everyone is entitled to as a human being — regardless of race, colour, religion, sex, language, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status. While indispensable in the defense of human rights, the work is never done, and new challenges emerge.
From the climate crisis to the COVID-19 pandemic, combating racial injustice or setbacks to women’s rights — it’s now more important than ever to showcase the Declaration’s enduring relevance, and empower everyone, everywhere, to stand up for human rights.
Through our partnership, we’re excited to bring our strengths together to serve our global communities. ‘Be a force for good’ is one of Canva’s guiding values, and we want to help our communities find their voice and be a vehicle for change for the many human rights issues facing our world today.
Canva is proud to be supporting this campaign with a suite of templates — from social posts and reels to t-shirts and sticker designs. This is a natural extension of our ongoing commitment to empower everyone everywhere to speak their truths, and to stand up for what they believe is right.
We believe the right to personal and political freedom of expression is fundamental to the work we do. Just as there must be freedom of expression, it should also be easy and accessible to create and amplify those messages. In today’s world, impactful visual communication is essential for delivering your message loudly and clearly. From climate justice to LGBTQIA+ rights, there’s a template available for just about anything.
